SCHOLARSHIPS

Up to 100% of your student's tuition may be covered

In Arizona there are two great statewide scholarship programs that may be able to cover up to 100% of your student's tuition! The State of Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) and Tuition Tax Credit Scholarships. Waybright believes that financial considerations should never stand in the way of a student thriving at our school.

Scholarship Programs

State of Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) Program

The Arizona Department of Education funds the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program. It provides students with 90% of the funding the state would be spending on them in the public school system. ESA scholarships are NOT "vouchers." Instead, the ESA funds flow through the parents, who choose how to spend it. Parents can use ESA funds for private school tuition, home education, educational therapies, tutoring, and more. (azed.gov/esa)

  • ESA is available to all K–12 students, and there are no income requirements.
  • Students in grades 1–12 using an ESA receive approximately $6,000–$9,000.
  • Kindergarten students receive approximately $4,000–$5,000.
  • Children with special needs receive a higher ESA amount based on the primary eligibility category on their IEP or Educational Evaluation. (Example: a student with Autism receives approximately $30,000–$43,000 annually.)
  • Funding is distributed quarterly.
  • You must choose either ESA or Tuition Tax Credit Scholarship. State law doesn't allow combining ESA with Tuition Tax Credit Scholarships in the same school year.

Arizona Private Education Scholarship Fund

Certified School Tuition Organizations (STOs) are private non-profit organizations established to receive income dollar-for-dollar state tax credit contributions that fund scholarships for students to attend qualified Arizona private schools like Waybright Academy. Individuals and corporations can get dollar-for-dollar state tax credits for donating to STOs. The School Tuition Organizations then award these funds to students as scholarships to attend a private school of their choice. We encourage all our families, whether they're personally using Tuition Tax Credit Scholarships or not, to donate their tax dollars and to encourage others to do the same.

Tuition Refund Policy

  1. All monies paid by the student will be fully refunded if the student chooses not to enroll in or to withdraw from the school within seven calendar days after having paid the commitment fee.
  2. If, after the seven-day cancellation period expires, a student withdraws [see #5] or is terminated, the commitment fee is not refundable. Any remaining tuition costs [minus the commitment fee] will be prorated based on the month the student leaves. A student is considered in the program if they attend any days during a month. For example, if your student is withdrawn on October 4th, you will be responsible for tuition for all months, from the start of the payment period through and including the full month of October.
  3. The date of withdrawal or termination is the last date of attendance by the student. Refunds are prorated based on the month the student leaves [see #2]
  4. All refunds due will be paid within sixty days of the student’s last date of attendance. I have been advised to keep a copy of this policy as well as copies of all financial documents.
  5. Acceptance of enrollment in Waybright Academy is contingent upon a commitment by the Parent or Legal Guardian to the full length of the program payment terms, including payment due dates and fees, as defined in the Tuition Commitment Agreement used to collect the commitment fee. A request for withdrawal may be submitted based on a permanent family relocation or the sudden death or serious illness that would prohibit the student from participating in a school learning environment.
